The food is frequently substandard, there are many things missing from the menu, and to top it off the food is frequently poorly prepared. The kitchen and dining staff in the primary dining restaurants is atrocious. However, after a lifetime of questionable dining, I have decided to speak out. There is a ton of lift capacity at these resorts and we are always able to find appropriate (advanced and intermediate) terrain with minimal lift lines. This year despite having only 60% percent of the resort open due to a lack of cold weather for snowmaking and almost no natural snow in the state the staff did a great job making sure the runs that were in operation were in excellent condition.
The skiing and accommodations are consistently good. We have a great time each year as we are all avid skiers or snowboarders and look forward to our mini vacation. I think it's time for Boyne to step up to the plate and rethink their lift ticket prices.Įach year my family heads to Boyne for a family ski getaway at Boyne Mountain or her sister resort Boyne Highlands. The Toledo Ski Club is doing our part to keep member's costs in line by holding our membership fees to $45 for single membership and $75 for a family membership. (2 $549, 2 $357) That is $716 more than this past season, a 65% increase! I understand Boyne plans on upgrading some of their lifts and snow making but this is going to hurt Boyne and all the local businesses that rely on the tourist's business. This upcoming season the exact same package will be $1,812 for those same (4) passes. One member said their cost this year was $1068 for 2 adult and 2 junior season passes. Toledo Ski Club members say the lift ticket prices have gone up obscenely for the upcoming year. We are getting lots of negative feedback from our members about the rising costs of skiing, Even though we've kept our lodging rates to $13-$19 per night. We always strive to make skiing as affordable for everyone and to promote the sport. We now have our own ski Lodge that sleeps 51 people about 7 miles away in Boyne City. We used to have a ski lodge at Boyne Mountain near the base of Super Bowl till it burned down New Years Eve 1960.
